English Exam

The English exams for VisaScreen are language proficiency tests that are required for certain healthcare professionals who are seeking to work in the United States. These exams are part of the VisaScreen program, which is administered by the International Commission on Healthcare Professions (ICHP).

The VisaScreen program was created to ensure that healthcare professionals who are seeking to work in the United States have the necessary language and clinical skills to provide safe and competent care to patients. The program is required for healthcare professionals who are seeking to work in the United States on a temporary basis (such as on a H-1B visa) or on a permanent basis (such as through a green card application).

There are two English exams that are accepted as part of the VisaScreen program: the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and the Test of Spoken English (TSE). These exams are designed to measure the healthcare professional's ability to understand and speak English at a level that is sufficient for safe and competent practice in the United States.

In order to be eligible to take the English exams for VisaScreen, healthcare professionals must have a degree or certification from a foreign healthcare program that is recognized by the ICHP. They must also have passed a clinical skills assessment (CSA) or be in the process of completing the CSA.

Once the healthcare professional has passed the English exams and the CSA, they will be eligible to apply for a visa or green card to work in the United States.
